Ezekiel 33:11

*Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel?

Desire. The sinner's damnation is not an object of God's pleasure, Ezechiel 18:23. (Calmet) --- He has an antecedent will to save all. He knocks at the door of our heart, (Apocalypse 3:20.) and if man do what depends on him, nothing will be wanting on the part of God. (St. Thomas Aquinas, [Summa Theologiae] 1:2. q. 109. and 112.)
