Proverbs 16:33 Lots are cast into the lap, but they are disposed of by the Lord.

Lord. So the apostles had recourse to them, (Acts 1:26.) as the Cophts[Copts?] and Nestorians still do when there is a dispute about the election of a patriarch. (Renaudot 4:Perpet. 1:7. and 9.) --- This mode may settle disputes, Proverbs 18:18.
