Jeremiah 3:2 Lift up thy eyes on high: and see where thou hast not prostituted thyself: thou didst sit in the ways, waiting for them, as a robber in the wilderness: and thou hast polluted the land with thy fornications, and with thy wickedness.

High. Literally, "straight forward." (Haydock) --- On the hills, idolatry and immorality prevailed. --- Ways, where harlots used to sit, Genesis 38:14., and Proverbs 7:9., and 33:27. --- Robber; "Arab," (Chaldean, etc.) or "crow."
